SINGULARITY:
This concept totally fascinates me
‘Point in time after which all predictions fail due to the acceleration about the future. They failed me because of the development of new technologies and their impact on my life.’ It is predicted that within 5 years the speed of AI development will mean humans are no longer in charge because technology is smarter than we are.

Human Life
I do want to look at traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
as a basis clearly defining 5 areas of human life.
1
Physical:
No matter what you want to do if the body packs up on you you’ve got a problem. The whole aging process, the ageism, the rotting off stage. Returning to the helpless infant reliant on others to tend and feed to just to make certain life goes on. But is it existence or is it living life?
2
Social:
Aging is looked on with reverence in certain social environments . The Grandmother is honoured as the font of all wisdom. Someone to consult who harbours all that knowledge through experience. In other societies, the elderly can be seen as a burden and segregated into care homes. If you are fortunate there are now independent retirement developments with a strong community spirit. But time isn’t linear, it is circular. As human beings we keep making the same mistakes over and over and over again. When are we going to learn for goodness sake?
3
Emotion:
Emotions are a sign that I am still alive not having a bland robot-like acceptance of what happens to me. I am the victim of circumstances and how my physical situation is impacted. I don’t want to rot off! But mentally I can be programming myself to do that. Socially my world will shrink. Dear friends gone on ahead. Loving partners no longer part of my communication system accept in spirit.
Certainly, the emotional factors range from the depths of despair through anger to happiness and utter bliss. It is not consistent unless you are totally dumbed down often through manipulation and/or fear. The whole spectrum vacillates.
Irritants vs Invigorate.
4
Occupation:
What is my role? For me it was predetermined as a woman born in 1940, there were expectations of what women did or didn’t do. You had the people who were there as inspirational models, role models who broke the mould and earnt respect for their capabilities.
The occupational factor is going to be impacted by AI big time. Funnily enough I’ve just remembered a visit to a very prestigious IT Company. My group was being shown around looking at the production of circuit boards, master boards or whatever you call them for the computer. All the things that make it functionally clever. Everything was being done by machines. These miniature tiny pieces just being put in the right places connecting all the circuitry.
Then we suddenly came across one area where there were humans inside a cubicle. They had white caps on, gloves, boots, overalls. Everything was prestigiously clean and I though WOW! That’s got to be special in there as we still need humans. In answer to that question ‘What does the human bring to this section whilst the step before can be mastered by a machine?’ And I’m still to this day shocked by the answer, and the answer was simply this. ‘They’re cheaper.’ It was cheaper to have a human being doing this mundane task than it was to have a sophisticated AI solution in place. Are we cheaper? Are we lesser than? With the advancement of AI what will be our role in life in the future?
My predicted role in the 1960’s was getting engaged, married and having a family. Also being a pillar of the community by helping out with village activities. The most exciting challenge I had was being asked to take minutes at one of our meetings because we decided we really needed to get more professional and see if there were any grants going to help us build the playgroup that we had started on our own initiative.
My late teenage rebellion started when I reached the age of 36 and began to question how I was using my talents. Having been fortunate to have created a successful career, I then decided to start my own business Prime Objectives in 1990.
5
Spiritual:
Why at so many people seeking the spiritual path. Remember, you are born with it!
Everything is connected!
Education and corporate environments have severed us. It’s separated what can be judged
and measured from the intangible elements that make us human beings.
Tick Box education. Regurgitated the known. I’m so tired of beating that drum. If we have to
pass these exams in order to have letters after our name to be valued as a worthwhile
human what are we doing to people like me? The rebels, free thinkers, the people who don’t
conform, the people who challenge, the people who can see a different solution than the one
in a text book that we have to regurgitate in order to keep the markers happy that we know
what we are talking about.
What has happened to our growth?
