TisME BLOG: THE CHRISTINE MARSH

NEWS FLASH: LATEST FORMAT CHANGE

Monthly Musings:

Musings: A period of reflection and contemplation and telling people about themselves. Creative Musings: A process from which inspiration and originality derive.

I had launched myself into the unexplored  World of Blogging with 4 weekly TisME Blogs. The contents were random unrelated subjects and I am aware I am on a steep learning curve!

New format: I will be changing the frequency to Monthly Musings and sharing my experiences and points of view for your consideration and enlightenment.

SELF AWARENESS: Hindsight & Future Focus

HINDSIGHT: AUGUST 2024

Hindsight is understanding a situation after it has happened, often with a different perspective. Sometimes everything went smoothly. I felt invigorated and  achieved even more than I had hoped for. Another time it was as if I’d hit a brick wall and everything disintegrated around me. It was a dark place and only I could I decide whether to pick up the scattered fragments, brush myself off,  and take forward the good bits and ditch the bad. Dwelling on the things that upset or frustrated me is a dreadful waste of time and only depletes my energy and threatens my  self-belief. Regret doesn’t change anything.

These are two examples of the key learning points I have  gained.

1. Reminder of Positive Times to Come

Claire Carroll, Photographer, held an exhibition of her work at Atlier8, Stow-on-the- Wold situated in the beautiful Cotswolds.  She had discovered ancient paintings of Japanese Cranes and using her photographic skills Claire has created a series of beautiful striking images. I feel in love with one of a single crane in flight she has called ‘Safe Landings’. This image resonated with me as I have felt myself to be in orbit over the past few years due to the drastic changes in my personal life. This seemed an apt personal August Birthday Present.

In Japan Cranes are considered holy creatures and symbols of longevity, good fortune, and peace.

2. Time is Cicular not Linear

Someone you have encountered in the past will reappear when least expected. I have been fortunate to have belonged to several Performance Improvement Societies around the world. This has given me the opportunity to present my valid case studies at International Conferences.

You never know if you have made a lasting impression on a respected colleague or a member of your audience. However, it was wonderful to discover many years later that this had been the case. I received an email from Dr K. Srinivasa Rao the newly appointed Chairman 2024-2026 of ISTD (Indian Society for Training and Development) Hyderabad Chapter. He wanted to invite someone for their Learners’ Forum who could share new concepts and stimulate interest. Naturally, I was delighted to accept to present via a Zoom. We decided on a current topic ‘Dealing with Disruptive Situations’.

FUTURE FOCUS: SEPTEMBER 2024

PAST EXPERIENCES REFLECTIONS

Before I move on I think it is important to give you some personal background information. My father was an Officer in the British Arny serving in India at the time of my birth and as a military man he was used to being obeyed. He had ordered a son William Richard and the required paperwork was already completed. Finding he had a second daughter he announced that he would call ‘it’ Bill.

However, I realise that I have never faced the profound impact on my life’s path.

I must have been a rebel from conception.

Who is Christine Marsh?

On my 36th Birthday, I decided to discover who this daughter, sister, wife, mother, and woman christened Christine Elizabeth really was. As a result I have developed an alter ego which is the second hidden side of oneself and can switch between the two!

CONCLUSION: Life is but a series of moments.

My life is  a blank canvas for the universe to use bold brush strokes to capture an image of my future. I will  be present, open minded and flexible.
